Thank you for all of your support and feedback as we continue to navigate protocols around summer 2022. We know these emails can be 'heavy' at times, and we appreciate your attention to these important communications.
As many of you know, camps have not received guidance related to Covid-19 from Public Health or any other governing or regulatory body for this summer. As a result, every camp will have different protocols and expectations this summer. We are pleased to report that our current plan was reviewed with Ontario Public Health and they are very supportive of the plan as presented. We are grateful for the expert advice we are receiving from our medical advisory committee.
Remember to continue to check our Summer 2022 page for ongoing updates as these updates continue to form part of the participant agreement for summer 2022
Spring Package Update ‘Spring Mailing’
All families that are current (paid in full) can expect to receive your spring mailing in the coming days. This package will include:
Forms and Reminders
2) Swim Form
3) Camper Profile Photo
4) Camper Questionnaire
5) Summer 2022 Release, Indemnity, and Acknowledgment
6) COVID Vaccine Certificate Upload
6) CIT ONLY: CIT Criminal Check Verification
In response to your feedback (thank you), we wanted to clarify a few points:
What happens if there is a positive test result in the 14 days before camp?
If the test was done at In-Common Labs, we will know, and make sure you are informed as well. If the test was done independently, you will need to inform us in writing and send the proof of positive results to [email protected]. After following public health protocols, so long as the camper/staff is symptom free leading up to and including date of departure, you will be going to camp as planned!
How will we find out the test results from In-Common Labs?
In-Common Labs will report positive cases to public health and the family will be advised as well by the lab and/or camp. Negative test results will not be communicated by the camp or lab unless the camp receives a specific request in writing to do so. The mantra here is ‘no news is good news’.
Can we do our test at a different lab?
Summer 2022 has been planned with In-Common Labs as our testing facility for all of our families in southern Ontario. This is the same lab that proved to be incredibly supportive, efficient, and available to our families for 2021. While Camp Northland does not benefit in any way from this affiliation, for efficiency and organizational purposes, all tests for camp purposes are required to go through In-Common Labs except for extenuating circumstances as reviewed and approved by the Camp Director in writing and in advance. The summer 2022 Covid surcharge of $150.00 includes any costs related to both the recommended and required test at IC Labs only (in addition to all other costs incurred related to Covid-19 in preparing camp for summer 2022).
Where do I find the most accurate and up-to-date Attestation?
The most current information is all found on our website. Links from earlier emails could direct you to old pages. Please stay connected and updated through the website Summer 2022 page, and refresh the page when you enter.
