A Jewish Camp. A Jewish Community.

Camp Northland-B’nai Brith is proud to be the Jewish community camp in Ontario. When you entrust your child to our camp, he or she will have the enriching experience of living in a Jewish environment with Jewish values that are modeled by our staff.

Values:
  • We live by Jewish values that are the backdrop to camp life and help build each child’s Jewish identity
  • Values such as Shalom Bayit (peace in the home) and Doogma (role model) are used to help form a positive community.

At NBB We Celebrate Our Jewish Culture In Many Different Ways: SHABBAT is a big spiritual and cultural event at camp:
  • The camp comes together on Friday evenings, wearing blue and white, for a special service and traditional dinner, followed by an amazing song session!
  • Shabbat ends on Saturday nights with a camp-wide Havdallah service on the perfect natural backdrop of our beach

Other ways that our Jewish environment is created are by providing programs and activities such as:
  • Hiring Israeli staff
  • Having a Hebrew word of the Day
  • Providing camp-wide Israel programs
  • Observing Tisha B’av
  • Enjoying a Purim carnival
  • Offering a fun-filled Judaics specialty
  • Making community connections, such as a March of the Living workshop for our CITs
  • Baking Challah on Friday afternoons

NBB is a place for your child to celebrate and enjoy learning about their Judaism!

We recognize that our campers have varying levels of knowledge of Jewish tradition and we respect various viewpoints and beliefs. Our goal is to have each child further their own Jewish development of pride and identity by participating to their own level of comfort.

We hope campers will enjoy the comradery of living in and celebrating the spirit of NBB’s wonderful Jewish community!
