Why It Matters
Camp Northland-B’nai Brith is the largest Jewish community overnight camp in Ontario, with roots dating back to 1909. For more than a century, Camp Northland has been a place where children from across the Greater Toronto Area and beyond come together on the shores of Moose Lake and become one community.
At camp:
  • Barriers disappear
  • Friendships are formed
  • Jewish identity comes to life
  • Lifelong connections begin
Through songs, spirit, programming, and shared experiences, campers build confidence, belonging, and a deep pride in their Jewish identity. Research consistently shows that positive Jewish camp experiences lead to stronger Jewish engagement, lifelong community involvement, and future leadership in Jewish life. In a time when antisemitism is rising, Camp Northland is more essential than ever. It is a place where Jewish children can be safe, proud, and fully themselves.
The Need
Camp Northland is a registered charity and non-profit organization. While camper fees cover approximately 80% of the true cost of camp, donor support is essential to close the gap and sustain our community. Each year, we rely on generous supporters to fund critical areas that ensure camp remains accessible, safe, and exceptional.

1. Camper Scholarships: No child should be turned away from camp due to financial barriers.
  • Over $500,000 annually supports camper financial assistance
  • 44% of families receive some level of funding
  • 58% of families say financial support influences their return
As the cost of living rises, the need continues to grow. Your gift ensures every child has the chance to belong.

2. Capacity Building & Camp Growth: We want to welcome more campers, but we need the space to do it safely and effectively.
A key limitation is a shortage of adult staff housing, which supports:
  • Leadership staff
  • Medical teams
  • Security personnel
  • Social workers
  • Food service teams
Investing in infrastructure today allows Camp Northland to grow tomorrow.

3. Safety & Security: The safety of our campers and staff is our highest priority.
With rising antisemitism, our responsibility is greater than ever. Your support helps us:
  • Upgrade security systems and infrastructure
  • Provide ongoing staff training
  • Maintain a safe, protected camp environment
Camp must always be a place where children feel secure and free to be themselves.

4. Israel Connectivity: Camp Northland plays a vital role in strengthening Jewish identity and connection to Israel.
Your support helps fund:
  • Israeli staff and cultural programming
  • Immersive Israel experiences at camp
  • Participation in programs like Kids of Courage (Beit HaLochem)
  • Future opportunities for campers to experience Israel firsthand (including planned initiatives for 2027)

5. Endowment: Building Forever: Your impact doesn’t have to end this summer.
Through Camp Northland’s newly established endowment fund at the Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto, your gift helps ensure camp thrives for generations.
Endowment gifts:
  • Provide long-term financial stability
  • Sustain camp programs for decades
  • Build a lasting legacy for future campers
How you can get involved:

Peer-to-peer outreach is one of the most powerful ways to inspire giving, and your voice can make a real difference.
